resister, and afm questions

I was wondering what the selonid resister does, (up by the passenger shock tower.) Also I was wondering if the afm, is the same on a turbo and NA. please respond as I am up to my ears in a turbo conversion and don't want to buy a new afm unless I need to.

The resistor is used to adjust idle mixture.

I am running am n/a AFM on my T2 and it seems to work fine (better than my stock t2 one did anyways).

One issue I have found however is that with my SAFC and the stock T2 AFM I would see 90%+ airflow, with this n/a AFM I am seeing around 60%, I don't know if this is because the SAFC is doing it's own interpretations and calculations or if the output of the AFM's is different. My A/F ratio seems about the same with the two AFM's and the car seems to run better with the n/a one, mostly because the stock T2 AFM had been tampered with a few times.
