Replacing thermostat

1) how hard?
2) where the hell is it?
3) could it be the cause of your engine running warmer than it's supposed to? (not alot, barely a needle-width over half, always been like that)

Follow upper radiator hose from radiator to motor. Where it connects, is the thermostat housing. Remove 2 bolts, remove housing, clean surfaces, install new thermostat, replace housing. Replace with Mazda thermostat. Aftermarket gauge, or factory gauge? If it hasn't been replaced for a while, you sure can't hurt anything. Cheap insurance.

On the stat - under the main valve - is a spring loaded disc. I covers a bypass port just under where the stat sits. The Mazda brand stat will fit. Some aftermarket stats don't close that bypass port properly.
