Replacing stock O2 with wideband?

I just purchased a plx m-500 wideband O2 with datalog. Besides the outputs for datalogging, it has an output for linear and narrowband. I was wondering if I could replace my stock O2 sensor with the wideband sensor on a stock TII ecu or just with an aftermarket ecu.

I would say putting the wideband sensor that close to the engine is a very bad idea because of the high heat. Higher than a piston engine.

I have an older Techedge and the sensor is a L1H1. I am assuming your using the L2H2.

My sensor can be damaged by high heat. As a result I have a seperate bung at the end of my Racing Beat Downpipe.

Talk to PLX about sensor over heating. I think they have a bung that acts like a heatsink?

You would have no problem feeding the narrowband output to your stock ecu.

The placement could be a problem with regards to longevity though, as Wankel7 mentioned above.

If you're using the bosch sensor, they're cheap enough to try it though. I just stick mine in there for testing.

Leave them seperate. The stock narrow-band sensor needs to be as close to the engine as possible to work properly while the wide-band needs to be further away to avoid damage.
