replacing the stereo...
so it's time for me to replace the 15 years old stereo system in my T2..
I am thinking of getting an Alpine CDA-7894 receiver (or may be a JVC KD-SH707), Kenwood KFC-1677 (6.5) for the back towers (cheaper 2 ways for back-fill only), and Kenwood KFC-P403 4" Component System for the front (to improve staging by moving tweeter to A pillar).
Questions:
I measured the rear tower boxes, and I don't know why Crutchfield do not believe a 6.75" speakers won't fit. I am thinking of something like a
Kenwood KFC-1777. Has anyone put in 6 3/4 speakers back there?
What's the biggest size speakers that will fit in the front under the dash? Would a 5 1/4 fit with some cutting of the front plate??
Thanks for helping me making informed choices.

yes 5 1/4 will fit the front doing some little mods....and i got oversized 6 1/2 in the back i think they are 6 3/4 or 7 inch kenwood speakers ...im an alarm & stereo installer, you will not have headaches trying to get those in there as long as u get the right tools it'll be a piece of cake!!!!
