replacing spring infront of shifter block

I have a broken spring inside the extension housing of the transmission on my 10th AE. Here is a pic of what im talking about, it wraps around the shift shaft and presses up on either side of the little block that the shifter moves. How do i change this spring out? Thanks

It's a pain in the *** really. You have to remove the shifter housing, which can be done, but it must be done CAREFULLY!!!! I can't stress that enough. There are 4 bolts you must remove after pulling the shift "block" back as far as possible (3rd gear) Then remove the spring housing on the driver's side (2 bolts, careful not to lose the little ball and spring) then drive the roll pin out of the block to separate it from the shaft, then replace the spring and reinstall.
