Replacing Intake Manifold gasket

I need to replace the gasket between the engine and the LIM. Can it be done without detaching the UIM from LIM? I just want to know before I order the gaskets from Mazdatrix.

Can it be done--Yes, but a major PITA.

Much easier to separate the two. It's just one more gasket and not too expensive. Also, you'll probably find other things to replace once you get in there.

The upper gasket is often reuseable.
The lower one likes to bond to the engine & split.
