Word of cation for those interested on the mazdaspeed seats on ebay. They are knock-offs and you get what you pay for. They WILL fall apart in a matter of weeks. Rather spend some money and get some real seats.

I view this stuff almost like the strut bar issue, my $24.00 strut bar does the same thing as the $169.00 ones, only I may be missing a cool name on mine and I saved money. I do believe that the $1000 seats from major brands names are better but for 99.9% of us the cheap ones are just fine. And forget safety, if you bolt them down good they as safe as factory. Even factory seats BTW will cave in in an accident. They are not meant to protect you, just to comfort you. For $290 shipped I will be just fine with my seats.

Just another update, I installed my passenger side seat this morning. Only problem (if you want to call it that) is that the seat is tilted slightly towards the passenger side door. This is caused because the mounting holes in the floor on the left side on the tranny tunnel are angled slightly, and the stock seat is angled to match. With these seats, there is no angle, so the seat is tilted. Its nothing noticable really, no one would ever know if I didnt tell them, but it is slightly closer to the door on that side.
(and yes I know I need to finish my interior and put my black passenger side doorpanel in )

To mount them I just drilled holes through the floor and used 5/16" bolts that were 3" long with a fender washer and another thicker washer then locking thread nuts for a secure safe and rattle free install.

I hope any of you guys getting harnesses have a rollcage. The 2 go together...get in a crash in a harness with no roll cage and see what happens. BTW the best "cheap" seats are DAD seats available here for only $400 a pair:

They are exactly the same as expensive Sparco seats.

As following 2nd gen section rules... you best not be posting info, if you don't know for sure!

And yes the brackets/sliders are the same for 'verts as for coupes.

theres a few forum members with these seats installed, and ive heard nothing but praise about them, after the install is done of course. seems like the stitching is decent, dont know about crash safety tho. but they look good and at 27lbs theyre a good 8-13 lbs lighter than gxl seats, 15 lbs lighter than vert seats and 5 lbs lighter than stock se buckets.

Those look to be very nice seats, just wish they didnt say bride on them. I have "knockoff" racing seats, but they dont say anything on them, they are just blank. Saying a companys name that they really arent just seems tacky to me. KInd of like buying an Integra LS and slapping Type-R stickers on it....

These are the ones im going to get, but with a regular black outside and grey in the center. They are Bride rip offs, if you get them with the word "BRIDE" in them you can get 2 for $300 (+shipping)

The GXL and Vert seats are the same seats... so if the seat was 8-13 lbs lighter than a GXL seat, how can it be 15 lbs lighter than a vert seat.
And the 27 lbs weight of those aftermarket seats are without the sliders or brackets. If you use the factory sliders and a simple steel bar as a bracket the seats weigh exactly the same as the 35lb Vert/GXL seats (which are weighed with sliders).
Please don't make stuff up and post it. Too many newbies don't know better!
