this is what has happened when your fuel gauge starts giving u funny readings



was thinking about replacing it with a slide potentiometer. i just don't what value it must be

 

Mine did the same thing, I saw that the coil had broken and "unwound" itself. You're better off just looking for someone selling the piece.

Probably not worth it to buy some new piece and figuring out how to make it fit.
