Hey, does anyone know any company that makes fiberglass, or carbonfiber oem fender replacement? I dont like how the oem fenders love to rust..... i mean... they love to rust. and i figure it's a half decent weight reduction correct?

wonder if any company will make it if there is enough interest?

 

never mind, about oem replacement, i just found a thread stating that oem fenders are 5 lbs ea LOL.... not much to save...

but anyway i know there is fiberglass kits out there, but is there any carbon fiber kits?just wondering.

I heard Fiberglass was quite a fad for a short while until people found out it cracked all the time, with ridiculous repair costs. You'll have less trouble with stock fenders if you keep bare spots painted. To keep good paint intact, try a good wax like Zaino. I got it for the UV40 protection (industry standard rating, not some b.s. claim) and b/c it stays on and shines longer than most anything else.

 

if you want fiberglass u will have to buy the ones with a lil air scoop on the side, or you might be able to find some cheap twain fenders(plastic?).

 

Higgi has the European Version of the fenders in FG. He usually ships via the postal service but they have a limit on the size so you would need to check with DHL or UPS for rates if you're really interested.
