Repairs after vandalization
Okay, my car was busted into last week and a crap ton of stuff was removed.... I'm super pissed.
Here's what I'm interested in though.
They stole the steering wheel. It was a momo wheel, i didnt have a horn button and I did have a 21mm socket and breaker bar in the cabin (stolen as well...)
So, I grabbed my spare wheel and threw it on there. Now it's loose. Loose as in I can't seem to get it tight to the column so that it engages and steers. Every once in a while it will slip as I'm turning it. WTF?
Should I just replace the whole column?

Was there any damage to the steering column? The shaft the steering wheel attaches to is a spline shaft--so there shouldn't be any play.
Is the spare wheel the original OEM wheel or another aftermarket wheel with adapter hub? Is the hub securely attached to the wheel? Is the adapter hub fully engaged on the steering column shaft?

No visible damage. I think I solved the issue. It's an aftermarket momo wheel, the connector for the horn was sandwiched between the hub and the...... column? Yea. No biggie. Back on the road.
