Well after 2.5 months my car is finally back in my hands. New mods:
-SMP sideskirts
-SMP CF gauge pods
-Apex-i power intake
-Cusco front and rear strut bars
-RB front and rear sway bars
-optima redtop
-Enkei RPM2s 17x8 and 17x9 wrapped with Toyo T1S' 225/45 and 255/40
-and some other miscellaneous stuff

I would like to thank all those who helped me by selling me parts to get my car back on the road (neofreak, ghettodave of osdesigns, dan h, gildardofc, 1revn3rdgen. Sorry if I missed anybody.

if you need some pointers on how to cut the hole out let me know. I used a dremel and all the dust was ******* unreal for that small hole.

 

I'm going to have my brother use a couple of hole saw drill bits to cut out the holes. Hopefully that'll work well. Or do you suggest otherwise? Kind of scared of ******* it up with a dremel Oh, but I am interested in some pics/etc on how you got the skirts mounted. They look damn good.

And man, I love Enkei's on a 7.

 

Yea using the dremel was kinda scary. What I did was trace out the diameter of my gauge (inside rim) on a large piece of tape and mark the center. I thnk drilled a hole into the center of the pod (it is already marked) and then stuck the tape on top of the center of the pod so I would have a good outline to go off of. The pod is alot thicker than I though. Just stop every couple of seconds and test fit. Try and keep a steady hand or you will scratch the pod a little like I did (sharpie fixed that though).


BTW I got some more goodies coming later as well.

 

What do you think about hole saws? I think if it's got a guide bit it'll work well, we'll see I guess. Any chances on getting some pics on the mounting equip on those skirts? TIA

 

Its back and even sexier. The side skirts actually look really good and I've always loved the Enkei RPM2's. Good stuff.

Just more inspiration for me to work on my car, haha.

 

The hole saws will work really good if you have them available in diameters smaller than your gauge and can move up progressively. With a dremel it was kinda jagged and uneven but the rim of the gauge covered all that up.

About the sideskirts, there was no mounting equipment supplied. My body shop just fitted them and then used a drill tap and then put in black screws to hold them in place (2 on each end of the skirt.) Here are some pix of where they mounted the screws and some other pix:

 

Where did you get that gauge pod? Or was it custom?

I have those same rims on my car. They look good but are a real bitch to keep clean!

Everything looks good. The only thing I noticed is that the RB mufflers look like they are hanging an inch or so too low. They look a little weird to me but it might just be the camera angle.

Cool stuff...your car absolutely NEEDS a front lip now I recommend picking one up hehe The blue hose under the hood is my only real complaint, nice 7 otherwise. The sideskirts look cool!!

 

I need to finish mine too.....I just need to tune it and slap an exhaust on it and I gots me a GTUsII........
