Removing the trims around the stock IC

I know its rivited onto the IC but how do I get rid of them without poking a hole into the IC itself? I have a dremel and a drill and most other common hand tools. What do you all suggest as the safest method?

use a drill bit about 2/3 the diameter of the rivet head, it is larger than the rivet body but not as large as the head, once the drill passes the head it will come off clean and the rivet body will drop past it's hole. alot of cars built these days are riveted together...trust me, it sounds scary but works well. be sure to use light pressure also while drilling, it will come off clean with little pressure, you do not want the rivet to start spinning.

Hey...quick question....Why are you going to take off the trim? Also please post pictures of it when you do take it off, I'd like to see it

To either make it look like *** and not seal that well against the hood if kept in the stock location, the only reason I've seen to remove the shroud pieces is to make it easier to front mount the unit.

front mount setup its not for a TII so don't ask I don't have a hood scoop either so I don't need a seal or anything. And looks are for women....
