Question Removing Stub shafts from rear differential

I can't seem to get them off. I tried hitting them with a hammer but no go.

Try again...
Are you talking about the stub axles, the ones with CV joints at both ends?
In which case I would not be hitting them with a hammer!
The axle attaches to the diff. via a flange. You remove the four bolts on the flange, and it should come away real easy.

Insert two pry bars betwen the differential case and the output shaft. Remove the output shaft by applying pressure to the pry bars

Are you saying you can't get the hubs off the axles, or the axles off the diff?
