Question Removing the A pillar on the 89-91 FC

Hey guys, I am trying to remove my A pillar so I can run hide the power cord for my Valentine 1. I just want to know what I have to do to remove that on the 89-91 cars? Do I just rip it out or is there tricks to it?

theres a screw way up at the top at the very end. The rest are snaps. Its a monumental task taking an old stock out out without breaking the plastic. You have to be super gentle.

You have a choice here....

A) you can buy a interior removal tool and do it right.

B) You can pre- order another pillar now.

The tool is very inexpensive and WELL worth its weight in gold.

Its available at any auto parts store.

Even is you go buy the removal tool, still be careful. Mine didn't break until I sat it on the roof of the car. Luckily, it broke right where the gauge pod goes, so no one can see it

I did this, and broke the hell out of about 4 of those snaps, but it still goes on and looks fine! On the other side, I broke nothing! Guess I was lucky!

I used the switched hot power for the sunroof, and mounted the detector next to the mirror post. (no wires show)

The dome light plug also has full time 12v suitable for garage door openers.

Good idea to use the power source from the dome light, but problem with my radar detector is that i have a V1 with the optional conceal display kit, i wanna mount it under the speedometer. I have to wire the phone line somehow i guess..
