I don't know what the other guys use, but I use a high speed drill with aluminum cutting bits. They are long, round bits with huge teeth on them that eat through almost anything.

i began my port job today, question, on porting the TB how much can u grind off?? and also is it worth replacing that plastic gasket that 1 c, thick with a regulkar gasket(this is in between the TB and intake manifold)

I just pulled my intake off yesterday night. When I'm porting the intake manifold, how much can a grind away? Are there any templates or maybe some before/after pics that I could use as a reference? Or if anyone knows any good links I would appreciate that too.

These pics are of my manifold that Ive been driving with for 12K miles.
Basically just pay attention to the wall thickness. You dont need any special measuring divices, just use good judgement.
