Removing the Heating and A/C controls - Need Wiring Advice
Hey guys.
I am going to be installing some gauges in a new center panel where the radio and climate control stuff used to be. I just have a quick question about removing the actual heating control unit. There is a black bundle of wires that runs right into the back of the unit and seems to be soldered into the circuit board inside. Can I just cut them and tape up the wires or what?
I imagine these are solely for climate control but I wanted to ask before cutting anything.

Yikes!
Please do not cut that harness.
The other end has a connector that can be undone...remove the defrost vent cover under the windshield and it's tucked up at the top.
Why trash a perfectly good part just to save ten minutes.

Hey thanks! I was looking for the connector but couldn't see anything under the dash so I figured I would ask around here.
I have been keeping all of the parts I remove for either future use or to sell if anybody can use them, so I prefer not to trash anything.

The harness is above the accel pedal.
You can either reach up and unplug it (if you have a small hand) or pull the gauge cluster reach in and unplug it, or (as clokker said) pull the front top part of the dash and unplug it.
