Ok so my dumass broke the driver side door handle today. So far I took off the panel and took out the window and un-did the 2 bolts holding the door handle in. Slid out the lock and now I'm stuck.

What else do I have to do to remove the door handle. I see a big long thread going through a plastic piece and I don't have the slighest clue on how to get it off.

Wow... you dont need to take out the window man That "plastic piece" just unsnaps. There are 2 of them, one holding a rod for the latch and the other for the lock. Just unsnap the plastic and remove the rod. Then pull handle out.

let us know if you need more help, its really an easy door handle. I swore at one of mine being broke for months till I broke down and installed one, while the handle design sucks the replacement was easy.
