Removing convertible headrests?

Do the '88 vert headrests (leather with speakers) come off the seats? Redoing the leather, cannot get them off.

The 2 posts appear to be welded to the seat frame in the back section, there is one bolt on plate between the 2 posts which of course I can't get off.

At one point I had to remove my headrests in my 'vert... Simplest way i've found is just to drill out the single bolt/screw that connects the headrest to the seat, slide the thing off, and then put a new bolt in the same hole....

I just did mine about two month ago. It has a "phillips" screw in the middle shaft. I had to push the letther down (between the hedrest and seat) to see the screw. The head is accessible through the front part of the seat. The bolt that this scew goes attached to is welded. As for the post on the sides, they just slide in and out.
The screw was pretty tight and I had to use my air tool to get it out.
