Removing AC, PS.

How beneficial is it to remove the AC and/or power stearing? and how is it beneficial, does the AC weigh like 100lbs or something? and how would removing the power stearing increase performance, sorry for asking such noob questions, but i have to know. I searched AC removal, an AC but didnt find anything, so dont flame me on that

Closer to about 50# for the air conditioning.

The A/C and the heater core/climate control stuff together weighs about 100#

No HP benifit to removing the power steering unless you have a S5 N/A.

Also has the added benifit of making the engine bay look alot cleaner. Basically the power steering only is operational below ~30 MPH anyway , so the only real difference you will feel is slow speed situations. Parking lots, etc.. Once you get that huge *** bracket off the side of the engine, along with the A/C and P/S pumps, it is a considerable amount of weight. I will be removing all of my A/C and P/S equipment in the next month or so (Finally winter, mod time! ) and I am planning on doing a littlw write-up, with pictures, and weighing everything that is taken off..

Read the FAQ at the top of this forum, it will tell you everything you need to know.. S4 (series four) is 86-88 and S5 (series five) is 89-91.
