was a dead battery from jammin on the radio while taking everything out. Motor was spinning but just did not have the juice to fire, so i jumped it and everything is smooth.
MAn i cannot believe the room that is in the engine bay now! What a difference, I know its gonna get hot and all in the summer but hey, i have 2 windows and a sunroof....besides you dont have to ride with if you are botherd by it.
Next week the ABS is going as soon as my delete kit comes from Racingbeat. Then i will have removed about 70lbs of CRAP!!
I cant believe the amount of weight that was associated with those 3 things. But then again it was 18yrs ago.

If your taking it out to save weight absolutely, but to save gas.... Nah... Just turn it off if you think it will save you that much...
Hm, well, interesting of you to mention this..besides the fact that Myth Busters is total crap. Anyways.
Tested in 3 different vehicles. One, 2005 Ford Explorer. When the AC is turned on, the RPM goes up (at highway speeds) around 100-200 rpm.
Second, 1998? Jeep Liberty. Idle up with AC, 200-300 rpm.
My 88GTU, idle up is like 100 or so, I think..haven't driven it in a while. The other tests were done about a month ago for the Jeep, 3 days ago for the Explorer.
Now..this might not seem like much. But, 200 rpm, plus extra rotational weight...its definitely good for gas to have it off. Myth Busters isn't needed for anything..
So uh...200 RPM is definitely a strain on the motor.

I believe mythbusters did do an episode on the AC vs no AC, and found that 45 mph is the break point. The drag created at 45 mph with windows down is the same amount as if you were running the AC, as far as I can remember. Mythbusters does suck, their variables and controls suck ***. The show still interests me, because at least there is a level of education to their experiments.

Well I guess I have to agree that Myth Busters could do a little better on their varibles. However, all I am saying is that it isn't worth it to de-AC a vehicle unless you are looking for weightloss. All the rest was opinion, and my personal observation.
