remove waterpump?
waterpump HOUSING,
leave the airpump and alternator on the housing and take off in one piece.
Unbolt the four oil metering lines from the OMP.
Dont break your oil metering pump lines, they're 20 bucks a piece.
Drain the cooling system from the radiator and block.
theres an electrical conector behind the waterpump housing, just below the filler neck. Below that there's a hose that needs to be disconnected.
everything else is pretty obvious.
why are you removing the front cover??
when you remove the front cover you need to be aware of the potential danger of this http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention this time saving tip...
leave the BOLTS(2) that mate the WATERPUMP to the WATERPUMP HOUSING alone.
this will save you from replacing the waterpump gasket.
loosen and remove the NUTS and LOCKNUTS (on the waterpump) that mate the WATERPUMP HOUSING to the front side housing.
then that biatch will come off the front side housing, and again... dont break your omp lines.

As much as well-intentioned the above advice is, I would rather recommend to remove everything and reseal upon reassembly.
I have never come across a water pump housing and water pump that kept it's seal with the two bolts.
It's a royal pain-in-the-*** to go back and reseal everything when you could've done it the first time.
So, just sheer preventive redundacy, just go ahead and replace gaskets and reseal everything when you do remove the water pump.
