remove broken bolt

I broke one of the 2 bolts that hold the thermostat housing down. (well it looks just like a thermostat housing but now that I remember, my car did not have a thermostat installed). I was able to take off the other bolt and swivel the housing off so now I have a 1" bolt sticking up that I need to remove and replace to run my car. Anyone got any useful ideas to help me with this?

The car has 180K miles and had been sitting for a few miles before I recently acquired it.

Thanks,

Vicegrips if you have enough sticking out. Otherwise use an ez-out (look in the drill bit section of your hardware store)

Take the other bolt to get a new metric bolt of the same size at the local hardware store.
