Question Remove brake handle?

This is probably a dumb question but, how do you remove just the brake handle? I have a new leather boot from redline and I can't get it over the brake handle with out ripping it. I have the mazda manual but it only shows how to remove the whole brake assembly.

twist and pull, and it should slide off the end!

some else responded from one of the other rx web sites said that they are glued on? I may have to buy a replacement before I tear the old one up...

uh....don't think so. I've pulled them off on the 3 cars I've had, numerous times. its just a tight fitting plastic/rubber thing. just go out and twist on it, and once it moves, start to pull as you continue to twist. it'll start to slide off.

its really not hard.
