removal of s5 airpump

would this affect the idle of the car, mine starts up but only stays on if im giving it some gas. i just replaced alt. and all engine bay fuses, and tightened up my OMP (bolts loosened i guess). the car's been sittin for a few weeks, but i just recently moved it, still with the idle problem. s5 n/a by the way

No. I've had mine off for years and it idles fine and at the factory spec'd rpm. How does it run when you give it gas? Is it smooth or rough, missing, etc?

If you remove the airpump (which doesn't get you any noticable Hp increase) you will lose the activation of the 5th/6th ports and the VDI (which is a noticable loss in HP). There really isn't any reason to remove it on an S5 N/A.

Did it run fine before it sat for awhile? You didn't unplug the OMP and not plug it back in did you. That would put it in limp home mode. Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected. I had the big one attached to the intake tube come off once. Car would start and immedaitly die. Might check compression to rule any apex seal problems out. Once you get it running right make sure you wire your 5th and 6th ports open and the VDI to the high RPM position if you don't put the Air pump back on. Else you just killed your power on the top end.

This is a workable solution but it will absolutly kill your power on the low end.

I wouldn't say absolutly kill , the n/a rotary doesn't have much low end to begin with anyway. I wasn't saying it's the best option. I was just saying wire them open if he's not going to put the air pump back on.
