removal/replacement of TPS

I'm trying to replace a faulty TPS in my 91 S5. I can't seem to reach the screw/bolt located under the TPS. Do I have to remove the entire throttle body to access this screw? I tried using a 1/4 inch socket with a phillips bit, but I only have an inch to work with before I hit the intake runners. Any thoughts?
