Reliability/Go fast parts

Hey all, I want to get about 300hp out of my 2nd gen turboII, I was told it was really easy, like porting exhaust... I would like to know what else I should do.
But I have been reading some of the posts about putting in a bigger radiator, this seems like a no brainer since rotarys are really prone to damage from flucuating temperatures in the engine. But the things like getting a ECU upgrade so that it won't lean out kind of have me lost ( I know that lean is bad but whats wrong witht eh stock ECU). And is there anything else like that to make the motor last longer, beside the basic stuff like oil and such?

Thanks
-Justin

Oil pellet mod....
fuel cut defencer.
Front mount intercooler.
wastegate porting..
probable a catback system

300hp is real easy to get.

I think there was a post awhile back called reliablity mods..

Would 250-300hp be fairly easy to get with a NA motor? Cuz it looks like the only Turbo around me (that I can afford is a POS) But there are quite a few NA cars newr me in good condition.

There really aren't as many "reliability mods" on the 2nd gens as there are on the 3rd gens, to begin with.

Making a 300hp NA is damn near impossible for the average guy out there, and the end result isn't very streetable. NA's with typical bolt-on mods make around 140-160hp to the ground.

The TurboII can make around 200-250 to the ground on the stock turbo with bolt-ons. You will need fuel modifications as well - larger injectors and a Super-AFC will do quite well.

300hp to the ground is obtainable with a hybrid stock turbo quite easily, but you really have to have a lot of supporting mods to go with it - intercooler, fuel system, fuel pump, etc. etc. etc.

The stock radiator really does quite well if it's in good shape, BTW.

Again, pretty much any car making that kind of power is gonna cost you - either a newer car that's already making that kind of power that costs more to initially buy, or an older car that has the potential but requires a lot of money to get there.

Regardless, on ANY car when you go past VERY basic mods you're gonna be pushing it, especially on a 100,000 mile plus motor and chassis. Something WILL break - the motor, the drivetrain, something. You simply can't double the output of an old motor and expect nothing to give.

You have to do some extensive tuning as well as peripheral port your engine to get close to 300hp..

I plan on makin about 200rwhp with a street port and some other goodies
