release cylinder problem

Hey,
We just got the rebuild started up and it idled on its own after about 20 seconds. Besides the oil leaks from the turbo lines, it is running good. But I noticed a problem. It appears the clutch release cylinder (the boot) has no pressure. It won't push against the clutch fork at all. Am I correct that the release cylinder just pushes on the fork? It doesn't bolt to it at all does it? When we push the clutch pedal it goes in without any force and doesn't come back up.

So I guess my question is... what is wrong with the clutch system? would the release cylinder be faulty? Or is there another problem? Thanks for any help.

That is a SLAVE cylinder. You need to bleed the clutch SLAVE cylinder. It has a bleed nipple on it. Pretend your bleeding the brakes.

I'm thinking either the line going to the slave cylinder is loose or may have possibly got ripped off. But yea you will have to bleed it regardless.
