Hi, ive been away from the forum for a while but ive run into a problem with a project me and a friend picked up a few months ago. The convertible top worked but started working on and off, the switch works and the motors work, so my friend ordered a relay from mazda but i followed the wiring in the car and i cant seem to find it. Can some one please tell me where it is located if there is one or point me in the direction of a schematic? I would like to be able to work on this tomorrow if someone could help me out.

The only relays for the top, are built into the motor assemblies.

Does the top go up or down when you jumper the the test connector under the hood???

 

What test connector under the hood for the convertible top? Can someone describe where it is?

Again??? Nobody searches anymore...

Passengers shock tower, next to the pressure sensor. 6 pin plug with 5 wires in it. Red/White is open, Grn/White is close, Black is ground, Black/Yellow is ignition power for the top, and Red is grounded when the parking brake is on.

 

Does anyone know if you can easily change over a 1989 convertible controls to the later 90-91 switch in the console easily?

run three wires from the plug on the dash, to the center consol
