lights

the s4 lights I had were crap, the acura euro lights FREE cause the plastic covering them was cracked, I thought maybe make something unique which cost next to nothing. Plus I still have my s5's, so I think they look better than the crap s4 lights

They would look good if it weren't for the clear inner light. I still prefer color matched S4 Tails over any tailight on a FC, S5s only look good at night..

hey mad props...not my cup of tea but i give you good credit for trying something new and sticking with it for the curiosity and for the creative spirit. People it seems didnt listen when you said you were doing it to see how it looked and that you had your s5 lights still. Nice experement and if you keep it, power to you even tho i would keep the s5 lights, and if anything sell them on ebay and get your cash investment back on a fun project from the get go and a thing or two you learned in the process. The outcome was decently clean and looks like a job well done even tho i personally would choose the s5 lights and leave it at that but i definitely appreciate the creative spirit to it and the follow thru. Cool.

whats wrong with understanding that the guy has another set of taillights and he was just trying something out for the hell of it to see what it would look like because he has the skill to do so?

Impressed with the work but IMO, I don't like them at all.

" What do you think? Cheesy or looks ok..."

He asked for it. I expressed my thoughts plain and simple. The less strick "anti-rice" people on the board(using me as a baseline that means about 85% of the forum) don't like my commet, like I give a flying rat's turd cutter.

yeah I think it looks cheesy too....the guy also said he had a pair of s5 sitting around to put back on his car and that the lights he chopped up were free anyway so he was doing it just for the fun and the curiosity, not because he was some broke ricer that it sounded like Mark was making him out to be.

i know this guy personally .. and believe me, he isn't a ricer.

I've seen the stages of these,.. and they look good for what he used. And considering he has no formal training in fiberglass work. Looks good for what they are to me.
I'd have to say i perfer S5 tails myself, but i think these could be re-worked, and made to rival S5's. His bumper mold looks like it will be good too.
Its nice to see someone attempting this kind of stuff on their own.
A term i try to live by is "Built not Bought". I know not everything can be built, but the effort deserves notoriety.

A for effort.....B+ everall. I think that it would be better if the mod around them was different.....I like the lights he used. Keep up the good work and keep improving on the design.

they are not that bad. i wouldn't get them myself. but considering it was cheap and good craftsmanship, there isn't anything wrong with trying new things.

yeah totally, i love the front end of the FC. but i think the FC2000* is pretty badass. i don't think i would get it, but you appreciate something new that looks good.

* you have skills, but not FC2000 skills just used for comparison purposes

looks good.
if i were in the market for tail lights, i'd ask you to make me some--i just don't see the point of upgrading tail lights....i never drive behind my car anyway, so i don't have to look at them

i love when people build **** though.. great work!!

a fine question...
although if you're rear ended in california, it's the rear-enders fault automatically.

sorry to say but they look cheesy and 'plastic'... but have potential to look really good and classy.
maybe if you used fiberglass bondo to blended the black borders of the light assembly to the rest of the rear/quarter panel.. to make it look like the lights are cleanly coming out of the body panels (after you respray the rear end all factory black again)

here is a picture of something similar to what im trying to explain: http://www.quantumsoft.co.uk/files/c...scan_Speed.jpg

In our suit happy society, I think not. If your driving a car with modified taillights and your rearended, get ready to get it in the rear again, its going to happen. I just read where some kids parents were getting sued for 1.0 Million because he had put those eurotrash lights on his car. The plaintiff claimed that they could not see the lights to ideitify where to stop. Even if this kid wins, how much do you think it will cost?
