That may be what he meant. They've never been cheap. But I got a really good used set for like $200. Look for deals. If you're looking to do a budget rebuild, but don't know a lot of guys who will give you steals of deals, your best friend is lots of time to find deals. That's how I did it. I took 6-12 months building up a stock of parts to build and saved a buttload in the end. I haven't taken the time to figure up how much because most of it's used parts, the prices will naturally vary a fair amount, and I don't care too much because I love how it turned out. Again, look for deals.
