why whould you want to take it out?

Turbo II 03-19-07 12:06 PM

Hah! I went on about a 200 mile back road run with my Vert yesterday with some friends. I bet I heard the buzzer go off at least 100 times. I'm glad it's in there!

If you really wanted to (not advising it), I would make a switch to turn it off as opposed to removing it. It's also there to warn you of low coolant and low oil so it's a good thing to keep.

i wouldn't take it out. the buzzer is there for a reason, and in most times, WILL save your engine from damage.

i pulled it out. just pull out the gauge cluster, split the housing and it will be a white box approx. 1"x1"x1/2". I just desoildered the buzzer and put it all back together and its been working fine. But yeah... its probably better you have it in there...

WadeMCarter 03-19-07 12:38 PM

I say leave it in. its more helpful than annoying.

That's what I did with my old rx7, I'm keeping it in my new one.

The buzzer only comes on at redline (or low oil, or low coolant).

If you have not changed your flywheel and rotors, then you have not changed your redline. Even a aggressive street port won't change the redline.

There for you still need the buzzer at redline (and of course that is the same buzzer for low oil and low coolant as well).

So it would be pretty stupid to remove the buzzer.

thashogunlpc 03-19-07 10:54 PM

well ...
with all things considered.... illsee what happens
thanks for all the help

i actually like it. if im fucking around and driftin in a parking lot somewhere, i dont have to keep my eyes on the tach, when it buzzes i know where im at and know wether to let the revs drop or not. plus you never know when a coolant delivery device decides to pop on ya.

WNT2CREALPAIN 03-20-07 11:38 AM

Don't take that buzzer out it's to your benefit

dizflyaznboi 03-20-07 01:43 PM

if you look behind the guage cluster, you can change the redline to a higher rpm. That way you dont hear it when you hit 7k but its still there for the coolant and low oil.
