Recommend me a clutch:

I am finishing up a TII swap into my vert and need a new clutch since the stock one is shot.

I am not really partial to anything other than I want something thats linear and stock feeling, I am not planning to push more than 300whp this year probably even less thus I dont see the need for something crazy that feels on/off etc. Correct me if I am wrong ofcourse.

As far as an example I like the way the ACT street and strip drove but they dont have em for TII's. Few friends have used Exedy products and liked them but like I said maybe someone can recommend me something along the lines of what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance,

Ark

I've had a Centerforce2 on my NA for years. Been pretty happy with it. Not much of an increase in pedal pressure and no perceptible slippage with high rpm dumps but don't know how they perform with the turbo's

Ive been running the ACT extreme PP with the full face disk at over 400 HP, and it clamps just fine.

ACT does make a S/S clutch for the TII.

Thats what I saw too , the thing is going strictly by the ACT website they do not. I've seen them on a few smaller websites which makes me think its a misprint because some of the bigger more well known places did not have them.

Can anyone for a fact confirm that ACT makes a Street/Strip one for the TII.

LOL , a beefy clutch is fine but not when you're barely pushing any power over stock.

How would you describe the engagement of it. As stated before I'd really like to have something thats linear/stock feeling than the on/off feeling but then again most of the beefier clutches are like that.

Any mention of Exedy?

I've had nothing but problems with my centerforce. I'll go with a spec clutch next time.

Yeah I've read a few threads were Centerforce owner were pretty unhappy something along the lines of not holding the power its supposed to hold.

I've heard Specs are nice. Friend had one in his Maxima it help up nice until the tranny ate itself.

To sum it up I want something thats fairly easy to drive , can hold around 300whp , mostly spirited street driving and tracking 2-4 times a month at most. Is that a possible or do I have to stop being a ***** and step up to the big boy heavy duty clutches?

That clutch rules. Linear all the time.

Ive been running a centerforce stage 1 for 2 years and i havent had any problems at all with it. no slipping (used to do some drag take offs when i finished it a couple years ago, but not so much anymore) at high rpms or anything like that. it also feels very light compared to a stage 1 exedy. theres very little difference in pedal feel as far as stock is concerned. its very linear and easy to drive. i would recommend it to anyone thats not looking for some thing that is hard to drive. plus, their clutches are more competitively priced than most act's that ive seen floating about the interwebz...just a thought. im happy with my purchase and wouldnt really go anything else.

Ry.

My stage 2 centerforce slips pretty bad at the track on my 2nd - 3rd shift...it's less than a year old. Maybe the dual friction ones are better...

ACT all the way... Just make sure you match the proper pressure plate with the clutch disc, or you may have problems breaking the piece the fork pivots on...

On my NA I'm running the ACT Street/Strip clutch and HD pressure plate combo.

The clutch is great, grabs well, no slippage. The pressure plate clamps hard, noticably harder than stock (30% or so, the site says...) And it's VERY streetable.

What kind of choices do we have when it comes to Exedy? I was thinking of dropping in a six puck sprung hub with a lighter weight flywheel. Anyone running this setup on a TII that can leave feedback?
