well, i just bought my first RX7 1988.. the previous owner says that the engine leaks oil by the front passenger side... he told me he doesnt know why or where it leaks. he said his friend thinks its leaking from the oil gasket...

what do you guys say? and if i wanted to take it to the shop... where should i take it?

This has to be the most generic/non-specific post ever.

You'll have to provide some details...pics would be even better.

 

It's probably the metering oil pump. The only way to find out is to clean the engine then look for the leak while it's running.

 

haha, this is a while back but found out my car has eliminated the OMP and has a block off plate. some oil is coming from the top of the water pump housing... dont know where exactly and still some from teh oil filter side... dont really know the facts.
