Cool Rebuilt or resprayed?

If you were going to buy an fc which do you think would be a better way to go...

-buy one that has been rebuilt (regardless of exterior) and make it look good from
there

OR

-buy one thats has been resprayed and looks exactly how you want it, then do up
the engine yourself

Both situations are questionable. If you buy a rebuilt engine, there is a risk it wasn't done correctly. If you buy a sprayed car, it could be a poor bondo job that could fall apart on you. If you're looking for one or the other, pick the one that has the work done that you struggle with. I personally hate body work and enjoy building engines and trannys. I look for vehicles with a great body and a shot motor. The car in my sig had 80,000 Florida miles on a auto tranny and blown engine. I didn't have to do much exterior work but I spent a lot of time getting the motor and tranny how I wanted it.

Hopes this helps,
Brian

Choose option 'C' like I did and buy a POS (get one with no rust though) and restore it yourself.

I personally would choose a rebuilt engine over new paint. There are alot of bodyshops that do crappy work; ask me how I know. Rebuilding a blown engine if far less time consuming, although more expensive, then stripping a car down to bare metal and repaint.

i personally would take the rebuild... if it had all the paperwork and was done by a good known shop... kinda the same with the body work... if it had the paperwork and was done by an experienced shop no including maaco

**** the engine.. .body/paint is more expensive and/or WAY more work. TRUST ME.

I chose option C, which is buy a car thats in good mechanical condition and rip it apart anyway and repaint/rebuild/rebuild.

Though, It depends on what you consider a GOOD paint job. If you consider the 50 dollar rustoleum paint job "good", then go for option A.

Check my sig for my buildup if you are curious how much work it is.
