Rebuilding Stock Turbo
Guys,
I just bought a used turbo to supposedly had 30K miles on it. I LOOKS great, very clean inside and out. Both sets of blades and housings look perfect. It's not even cracked in the usual places. It does not appear that it has ever leaked oil, the compressor housing is very clean inside, same with the exhaust housing. The problem: lots of shaft play. The blades do not contact the housing on either side but they come close. My question.....should I leave it alone or try to rebuild it myself? If I rebuild, where should I get the kit? Is there a web-site out there with directions?
Thanks,
Todd
