rebuilding s5 turbo engine... s4 housings?

rebuilding s5 turbo engine... s4 housings?

im rebuilding my s5 turbo engine...if i use s4 housings will it be okay? anything need to change/mod/swap

can i reuse all the other parts of my s5 engine...im mainly concerned with the LIM

and i know ill need an egr block off plate


i dont think ill do this : but technically could i use an s4 housing and an s5 housing ?

Yeah, you can. The differences, in a turbo motor, are:

front iron: oil passage o-ring casting is small on s4, large on s5. pay attention to this detail during assembly.

int. iron: none to note that I know of.

rear iron: s5's have a reinforcement between the oil filter pedestal and the upper dowel seat, that s4's lack. Some guys making modified power have cracked the s5 rear iron at the dowel seat, so the s5 piece is a good one to use.

rotorhousings: plug timing is changed a bit between s4/s5, so use 2 of each, not one of one and one of the other. Also s5's have the threaded hole above the T plug for the knock sensor, s4's do not (it was placed in the INT housing on s4 cars).
