Rebuilding the engine

I searched a bit but didnt really find to much on exactly what i was looking for. Found a good amount about rebuilding i guess.... but i need to know exactly what you would need as far as parts to rebuild a motor, and how much does it usualy cost, and is there any special tools i might need for this.

www.fc3s.org Check out the FSM for the your car there. It has every piece of the motor laid out. You can also check out www.mazdatrix.com and search through their engine parts to get an idea of how much each separate piece could potentially cost you.

Before i forget... How much do you think a 89 GXL is worth with a blown motor? It is in very nice condition... There is just 2 little dings on the door and the drivers side seat has a little wear in the leather. Other wise its in very good condition. Let me know what you think... A guy wants 800 for it...is that to much? I was thinking of trying to get it off him for 600...he bought it for 400 and just trying to make a profit.

I paid $400 for mine and it is mint with bad compression in the rear rotor, everything else is pristine minus a dent in the front fender and some worn leather. The guy I got it from was 45 living with his parents and he had to get rid of it fast because they didnt want him having more than 1 car at a time. Totally funny! He wanted 6 told him I'd give him 4 because it was sitting outside all winter and I would get it the next day so he went for it.
