Rebuild mapping and mixture

So my new engine is in the bay and gettin started soon but i have a few questions about the mixture and such.

I`ve done a streetport on my 13BT and its about put down into the engine bay and hooked up, im not sure how im gonna do it concerning the mapping tho and thats why i gotta turn too some of you guys who probably have done this a few times.

The engine needs a "drive-in" before i can tune up the boost and such, meaning i gotta drive about 500 miles before i can tune it right up too the power level i want it at, for now its a fully original S5 except for the streetported shortblock and a koyo radiator.Do i just drive the car the first 500 miles without doing any mapping just making sure i stay below boost? Or how do i proceed? i have the pfc and all those gadgets ready but not installed, do i even have too install the pfc before doing the "drive-in" ?

Sorry about the language but english isnt my first language.

Disconnect the wastegate actuator arm by removing the small clip, sliding the arm off, and let it hang. That way you can't boost and the car will still be drivable. The pfc might be needed to tune your idle. A street port will change your idle. The engine will use more fuel at idle.

That won't prevent boost. It will just make boost build more slowly.

To the original poster, don't worry too much about it. Get the engine started and then do a quick and dirty tune on the map to make it drivable. Drive the car easily for about 500 miles and try to avoid boost. Gradually raise the RPM limit through those 500 miles. After that, you can tune for power.

It is not the end of the world if the car sees a bit of boost before the breakin in over.

Thanks. I never saw more than 1psi on the boost gauge when mine was off. I had a completely new setup and I didn't know how the turbo behaved. Sometimes during my breakin I would be accelerating and see the boost gauge needle slip past 0psi and I backed off my right foot.

It might also be helpful to park your car over some clean pavement or slide cardboard under the engine after between drives. Careful with the cardboard if your exhaust is hot. Watch for drips. Sometime the drips only show after the car has been sitting after running...
