rear wiper removal help??
Hello,
My rear wiper has broken somehow. the post is spinning, but the wiper is not moving, it's slike it is stripped or something. The post just spins in the wiper base and I cannot figure out how to get the wiper off.....
I did a search but could only find the exact directions on how to remove the wiper from the post.... Any recommendations or how to's?

well if the splines are stripped you have a few options:
1) Undo the nut, remove the wiper, carefully file a couple little grooves in both the wiper and shaft, then loctite the bitch and REEF the nut back on.
2) Remove the nut and put on small tack weld across the wiper arm and shaft and reinstall the nut (don't really recommend/like this one)
3) Delete the wiper entirely and plug the hole in the glass.
But what are you having trouble doing? removing the wiper itself? Sometimes they can be a bitch, a good tip to try is to undo the nut, leave it threaded on a few threads - hold the wiper arm up (to keep pressure upwards) and then tap on the nut (and inturn the shaft) with a hammer, this will shock the shaft downwards and hopefully the upwards pressure of holding the wiper arm up will break it free.
Otherwise get a slide hammer go postal on it - hehe.

Yes, removing the wiper from the actual shaft.
I see a large flat nut against the glass when I raise the arm and try to see how to remove it, but aside from that, I can't see what to do to actually remove the wiper. It looks liek if I loosen that large flat nut, it would just go up against the wiper arm, and I would still not be able to remove the arm......
I figure once i had it off, I would jb weld that bad boy back onto the shaft.

crap,
sounds like I was just overlooking something really simple.... I was pulling up the wiper arm that holds the blade, and looking underneath, it didn't look like there was anything else that moved or uncovered anything

If you want to just get rid of all the crap, just remove all of it and you are left with a big hole.... what i do is just pull a rubber body plug in the floor ,vasoline it up and stick it in there. i have done three 91's like that and it works great, and dosent leak. freakin women need a rear wiper ,wright....

I took mine off. Looks much cleaner. Take the "cap" off the wiper arm on the bottom and there's a nut you undo. I'm sure you can figure out the motor removal. Just take a rubber bung from your rear wheel well and it will fit perfectly into the hole. Easy 5 pounds of weight removal

I can't believe i overlooked something that damned simple. I thought the cover part was part of the arm and not jus clicked on. Just pulled it off, the nut was about to fall off, positioned wiper, tightened nut, done.
