I need to replace my rear subframe in my series 5. The local junk yard has three such pieces, however they are from series 4 cars. This seems like a pretty standard part and I was wondering if the subframe piece (the rear cross member) was the same between the different series cars.

yep - the subframe anyway...

I believe there were different sway bar links between S4 and S5 - cast for S4, plastic/composite for S5

 

The subframes them selves are the same.
