Rear smoking?
can you hear the brakes while your driving? drive slow, and have somebody walk along side the car, to see if they can hear anything rubbing.
Sevearly warped rotors? i dunno.
If theres smoke... usualy you can get under there, and find out whats causing it.. look for rub marks, or, jack the car up, put it on jack stands, block the front wheels and turn it on, see if it does the same thing. just let the car run in first gear on the jack stands. just make sure its super secure.

The problem stopped when the ebrake was disconnected/not used.
It's probably not the cables or both sides of the car would be affected.
That leaves just the PS caliper, really.

I just replaced my left rear caliper and pads for both rear calipers. Since clokker doesn't think it's the cable, I'll try clokker's suggestions and see what I come up with. It's the driver's side rear caliper/ps caliper that's giving me the problem. When the parking brake is engaged for awhile, then disengaged, I have to almost stand on the pedal to snap the brakes loose. It's kinda of annoying and I've had to park without the parking brake for a couple of days now.
Update for today though, the brake light now will not turn off from the idiot light cluster. At first, I thought my brake booster was going out, but it seems to still be working, I have brakes, but it has been losing vaccum. I'm going to be replacing that hose tomorrow. I'm thinking it's the e-brake, but i haven't gotten the brake light to light before without raising the e-brake handle, and the handle is perfectly flat. I'm kinda scared, so any other reasons you can think of for the brake light in the idiot light cluster to light up? I haven't checked the brake fluid, but I'm going to do that first thing tomorrow morning.

Yup, it was the brake fluid, I stopped by my mechanic on the way to get a free top off of fluid and ask for his opinion. He clearly thinks it's the left rear e-brake cable, and that lubing won't really do anything. The calipers and pads were recently changed so I don't think it's the pads binding. I'll try swapping the e-brake cable and see what happens.

After all that trouble, it was the reman caliper that i used. the lever to engage the ebrake wasn't releasing right. I swapped out the caliper with another S5 vented rear caliper and the problem went away. Thanks for everyone's advice.
