The car ran great before I flooded it soooo bad ( I had gas leaking out between the cats -- that bad!).I was able to get it to start and run a few weeks ago, but the rear rotor has a dropped apex seal and is losing compression on 2 of the sides. I've checked on the internet at a few forums and people say that it's a pretty common thing for the 2nd generation RX's. They say that you can squirt some automatic tranny fluid into the rotor housing and pump back up the oil under the apex seal and cause it to re-seal and compress again.

Dropped apex seal ? As in "out of its socket, and down inside the housing" ? and how on earth is putting ATF in is going to help push the apex seal back in ? Is ATF going to pick up the seal and place it back in its socket ?
And you had gas leaking from between the cats ? How is that even possible ? Gas does not even get there.

then again, it could be coolant, which could be leaking from the heater hose, but then you could spot it right away, because the Low Coolant buzzer would go off almost instantly....
