Rear end shifting problems

The problem I have now with my t2 fc, is shifting............as I shift from 1st to 2nd, all the way up to 4th, I hear a clunking noise, its loud, now my friend is thinking its my u-joint is loose and my step dad think it might be my gears not catching right on the back axles, so if anyone has any idea of what may be the problem, let me now, cuz i'm very curious

Sounds like a broken diff mount. Might want to check your tranny mount too while you're under there.

If it's anything slipping (gears), you will know in a hurry.

Is it a constant chattering, or clunking? Or will it just clunk or bang when you step on the gas suddenly from closed throttle?

Check your rear diff mount, I bet its broken.

Rarely do the u-joints, or ring and pinion break.
