Hope someone might know if there were 2 types of limited slip used in 1988 such as clutch type and vis type.
Im trying to figure out what rear I have here which came from a gxl 1988 junk parts car. the numbers on the rear are 0406498 3660 and also has F stamped on it. I know its limited slip just not sure if its clutch type or vis type.
As i can turn the input shaft and the outs turn in the same direction. which indicates limited slip.

 

Clutch type is stock for the '88 GXL.

 

LSD on N/A's have a tag on the Fill Plug..it says "use LSD type fluid only".(something like that.)
