Rear counter weights
Is there a difference in weight between a 13bt S4 and S5 rear counter weight. I have a rear counter weight off a S4 and wont to use it with a lighten flywheel on my S5.

Actually, the weight difference is very minimal.
At most, on my certified scale, the max weight difference would be 0.02 lbs!
And no, you cannot swap the two.
Using the wrong counterweight will induce nasty harmonic vibrations are you rev the engine.
Long term use will destroy all the bearings inside the motor.

You can't.
I heard that if you order a new one from a Mazda dealer, they do not come pre-balanced anymore.
How many holes are drilled in yours?
S4's usually have more holes.
I think they are off by a matter of grams.

I have one that i was told was i S4 one that has one deep hole and one shallow hole. I also have one that was off a earlyer Rx5 13b engine and that has one deep hole. It would have been nice if mazda had put part numbers on the things so you could tell them apart.
