Rear Bumpers
I was told that the 86-88 and 89-92 rear bumpers were interchangable. I called the local Mazda dealer today and had him check the part numbers for a 88 and a 89 RX7. They had differnt part numbers. Would this mean they are not interchangable? GP Sports say there kits are for a 87-92 RX7. Does any one have more knowledge to help me out?
Thanx...........Michael

I asked RX7store.net about the Bomex rear end, wondering if it'd fit my N1 Dual Exhaust. He said that the openings were the same as stock, so it would fit the exhaust. I then realized that the picture of the Bomex car had 89-91 taillights and then Emailed the guy back. I told him that I had a series 4 and if it'd still fit..... he said that it would fit, but there would be some gaps.
Doesn't really fit then, does it? I bet you could get a GP Sports bumber and have a reputable body shop put it on to make it look good.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
The overall shape and trim is slightly different.
Yes they would be different part numbers because of that.
They are however interchangeable.
