Exclamation Rear Brakes- Solid disc to vented disc question!

Hi there Guys,
I just have a quick question about the rear brakes. I want to change from a solid disc to a vented disc. I have both rear hubs w/ the brigger brakes on them, and the car is already a 5 lug, but with the smaller brakes.

Is the hub the same so that I can just switch dust shields, calipers and rotors, or do I have to change the whole hub/brake assembly?

Thanks Guys.

You'll need the matching calipers (wider to fit the thicker rotors) but I think everything else is the same.

I have the wider calipers.

On the car right now are the smaller calipers with a solid disc and a 5 lug hub.

I have seperate 5 lug hubs with the bigger brakes, the vented disc and larger caliper.

Are the calipers and discs interchangeable so I don't have to change the whole hub, or do I have to change the whole hub.

It would be much easier to take the small calipers and solid discs off and put the bigger ones on.

All you need to swap are the rotors and calipers. No need to pull the hubs, everything else is the same (I've already done this swap).

Don't worry about it. It's not worth it. You can recoup some of your money by selling the setup to me.
just kidding.
It should take all of 2-3 hours depending on how frozen your bolts are.

I would rebuild the bigger calipers while you have them off just for good measure.

Grab a can of PB blaster + all you need is to take off the old calipers + rotors then put on the new ones.

Done + done.

You can sell the other hubs too. They're pretty high in demand.
