real quick clutch slave q

can you replace the slaved cylinder w/o dropping hte transmission

Yea, 2 bolts and the line, you probably have to scoot a heaterhose over to gain access. Look between the oil filter and firewall where the engine meets the trans...

its sitting ontop of the trans......ive taken mine off many times.......the only hard part is taking the line that feeds into the slave off.....

maybe someone has some tricks or something that will help with that

is it okay to have any play in the slave shaft (i can wiggle it side to side)

i couldnt get the line off either. i ended up just buying the stainless braided hose from mazdatrix. i figured since i bought a new slave cylinder ($20), might as well get a new line too. too bad the line cost jsut as much as the slave. oh well. saves me the trouble of having to replace it later.
