Read my plugs, please!

My car has been missing at cold idle for a little while, so I decided to pull my plugs and have a look. They look kinda odd to me, so I thought I'd let you guys have a say. They are about 9k miles old, and have a black base with a flakey tan layer that partially chipped off of some of them.

What do you think?

You say that like this poor college student has $20, but I'll get to it soon.

Your leading are not really that bad, L1 looking 'almost' normal for 9k. But your trailing look like ****, lots of deposits. Are you sure your trailing are firing right? I would not attempt to clean those plugs at all ... Get a MCJob for a day and buy new ones and pull them out and look at them sooner to se if your trailing are having firing issues again.

also, check you timing, and check your leading and trailing timing to make sure they corospond.

I just broke down and blew another $24 I don't have on new plugs, car purs like a kitten again.

I guess some timing work is in order now. Lucky for me I know who to ask to borrow a timing light.

I hope to get an air/fuel controller soon, probably an HKS AFR, and dyno it to see how rich it's running. I hate crud deposits on my plugs, this car needs a good dyno tune.

thats cool, a lot of things can be cause by plugs. pull em in like 2-3000 miles (just trailing if u want) to see what they look like.
