re-tuned ecu vs SAFC 2

hey guys, im swapping out my stock injectors with 750cc. now i was origonally gunna just get an SAFC 2, but recently i was told my best be would be to get a re-tuned ecu... if i were to go that route ide want something that was tuned to the following criteria: 750cc injectors, garrett t3/t4 super 60, no boost cut (if theres ne), after market MAS, and no shift buzzer/horn. ne one know where i could get my hands on something like that??

AFAIK there are no "chips" for the FC that change fuelling (Rtek doesn't count, the mixtures stay the same), and even if there were I'd advise you to avoid them like the plague. Any retuning of fuelling and igntition timing should be done in real time on the car. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all chip and anyone who claims to be able to custom tune a chip from a mod list is jerking your chain.

In short, if you want to retune the fuelling get the S-AFC. If you want to tick everything else off you list, get a proper standalone.

BTW, the shift buzzer is nothing to do with the ECU.

The RTEK2.0 mixtures and timing are adjustable OR I don't understand what you mean.

Oh yeah, forgot about the 2.0. Won't work on his S5 though, or any of the Rtek chips.

What is with the recent urge to remove the shift buzzer? Remember the shift buzzer is Mazda's way to remind you to shift cause the rotary is so quiet. You don't have to shift immediately when you hear the buzzer, but it's recomended you do it soon. If racing where you'll be at redline a lot you should just get used to the shift buzzer - you have your helmet and are concentrating (i hope) and that should lighten its stress.

Besides there is less power at redline that there is about 500rpm less so you wnat to get back into range as soon as possible. That and the fact that you're tearing up your engine gradually.

**I hope that when you stay in redline territory that you're wearing a helmet.

My error. I looked at his profile and I thought he had 189 RX-7 (to appreciate that remark you have to look at his profile). Hey! What's a number or two missing until it's a number left out of your paycheck.

NZ Convertible hit the nail on the head! Go with an SAFC or if you have the money, it would be in your best interest to go with a full stand alone ECU. There are several good options out there such as Haltech, Microtech, or Wolf. Best of luck to you.

what about the knight sport chip for the s5? That is said to give you more aggressice timing and fueling. It also removes fuel cut. Something that a safc cant do.

Would you honestly buy a chip that's "said to" do something without knowing exactly what it does? Doesn't that sound a bit risky to you? This is the safety of your engine you're gambling with. "More aggressive timing and fuelling" (i.e. leaner mixtures and advanced timing) can both result in detonation. Since every modified engine is different, an off-the-shelf chip is most likely going to either err on the side of caution (i.e. not do much) or go too far and risk engine damage.
